I started writing this in a normal blog entry but thought it was more fit to go here
Wich on the topic of Astra, theyre born disabled and need a cane. Later
on losing a leg but that was due to other plot related things. Id like
to give them a real disability to more acuratly depict what they go
trough bc rn its just "disabled". But idk how to go about that lmao? Its
easy to give characters traits i have, even if not exactly the same
since i live trough it and can go by that. But i wasnt born with a
physical disability... OK after much searching i think Astra being born
with hip displasia would make sense? Very mild at birth but with age
gets worse. Due to their upbringing there will be alot of ableist
thoughts stuck in their head causing them to kinda neglect theres a real
issue. Astra also has wonky feet and needs special soles in their shoes
but since they where a kid they actual get their shoes hand made made
(tho that dosnt make them shy away from wearing a slight heel at times).
And also aperently the only way to treat hip displasia is with surgery.
Either a whole new hip or they "re-enforce" the current hip. But Astra
would likly be convinced its due to their feet and "its no big deal",
even on bad flare up days...
